The Classification of Diaphragm Pumps

The Classification of Diaphragm Pumps

Diaphragm pump, also known as control pump, is the evolution of the reciprocating piston pump in the 1970s on the basis of the increase of diaphragm chamber. It is a new type of conveying machinery, and it is the most novel type of pump in China. It is different from the ordinary pump class, it is the main type of actuator, by accepting the control signal output of the modulation unit, with the help of power operation to change the fluid flow, often with the power of air, electric devices, liquid media and so on.

The three types of diaphragm pumps

1.Pneumatic single diaphragm pump
The pneumatic diaphragm pump uses  air as the power source, which is a positive displacement pump by the reciprocating deformation of the diaphragm. Its working principle is similar to that of the plunger pump.

Pneumatic diaphragm pump has four materials: engineering plastic, aluminum alloy, cast iron, stainless steel. Pneumatic diaphragm pump according to different liquid media respectively using nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, fluorine rubber, PTFE, polytetrafluoroethylene.

Nitrile rubber is mainly used in petrochemical and oil-containing liquids with good elastic life. Temperature limit: -12.2 ° C to +82.2 ° C, +10°F to +180°F.

Neoprene is widely used in non-corrosive applications. With long life and low cost characteristics; Temperature limit: -17.7 ° C to +93.3 ° C, 0°F to +200°F.

Fluorinated rubber is used at extremely high temperatures and has a good effect. Even in some acid and alkali products, but the cost is high and the life is short. Temperature limit: -40° C to +175.7 ° C, -40°F to +350°F.

2.Electric diaphragm pump
The motor on the electric diaphragm pump drives the diaphragm. On the left and right ends of the plunger through the reducer box to reciprocate. In the left and right two pump chambers, the movement of the upper and lower four one-way ball valve diaphragms causes a change. In the volume of the working chamber, forcing the four one-way ball valves to open and close alternately. so that the liquid is constantly inhaled and discharged.

3.Pneumatic double diaphragm pump
Pneumatic double diaphragm pumps are powered by air, nitrogen or natural gas. The main directional (pneumatic) control valve distributes compressed air to the gas chamber, applying uniform pressure to the inner surface of the diaphragm. At the same time, the  gas from the other side of the pump through the air valve assembly guide port.

The inner plate of the pneumatic double diaphragm pump

The inner plate of the pneumatic double diaphragm pump, which mechanically pulls the suction diaphragm through the stroke, contacts with the aligned drive plunger (public number: pump pipe) and moves the guide spire.

Because the diaphragm pump has some incomparable characteristics of traditional pumps, the diaphragm pump in the world is gradually invading the market of other pumps since its birth, and occupies a part of the proportion. In the painting, ceramics industry diaphragm pump has occupied an absolute dominant position. In some other industries, such as environmental protection, wastewater treatment, construction, sewage, and fine chemicals, it is expanding its market share, and has an irreplaceable position for other pumps.
